How to Force Remove SONOS One Gen2

Sometimes Bluetooth disconnection of a device may fail due to an error. Being unable to remove a Bluetooth device may cause your appliance to always appear in Windows 10 device list. Removing a failed device from Windows 10 may even fix issues with your SONOS One Gen2. If removing your device from Windows is not working, it may be caused by a number of reasons. Here you can find five methods, that may help you force remove blocked devices.

First method: Go to the Airplane Mode

  1. Press Windows Key + I on your keyboard

  2. Open Network & Internet tab

  3. Select Airplane Mode on the left
  4. On the right switch on the Airplane Mode
  5. Your SONOS One Gen2 should now be disconnected from your PC, good job!

Second method: Remove from the device list

  1. Open Windows start menu

  2. Type Control Panel

  3. Go to the Control Panel

  4. Navigate into View devices and printers under Hardware and sound section

  5. Find your SONOS One Gen2 in this view

  6. Right-click on SONOS One Gen2 and press Remove device

  7. Congratulations, your SONOS One Gen2 should now be removed from you computer device list!

Third method: Uninstall the device from the Device Manager

  1. Open Windows start menu

  2. Type Device Manager

  3. Go to the Device Manager

  4. Expand the View tab from the upper panel

  5. And turn on Show hidden devices option

  6. Right-click on the SONOS One Gen2 in the Bluetooth devices tab and click at Uninstall device

  7. Confirm removal by choosing Uninstall

  8. Your SONOS One Gen2 should now stop appearing in the device list, well done!

Fourth method: Removal using the Registry Editor

  1. Before you start editing your register make sure you have made a backup!
  2. Open the Start Menu

  3. Type regedit

  4. Open the Registry Editor

  5. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BTHPORT\Parameters\Devices

  6. Right-click on the entry with your device and select Delete

  7. Reboot your computer
  8. Congratulations, your SONOS One Gen2 should now be deleted!

Fifth method: Restart Bluetooth Device Association Service

  1. Open the Start Menu

  2. Type services

  3. Open the Services Manager

  4. Find Device Association Service, right-click it and select Reset

  5. You should now be able to remove your device by normal means
  6. Well done, you have successfully removed your device from your computer!
